Susie Q lost her home due to her owner going into an assisted living home. She is a big and beautiful 12 year old Siamese. She has beautiful light blue eyes (that I'm still trying to get a picture of). She is understandably very shy right now (as you can see by the two pictures I was able to get of her. She also didn't like the flash from the camera). When approached slowly she loves for her head to be scratched and stroked. She needs a quiet home to relax in.
Mama and Baby Doll are black and white mother and daughter who were found outside wandering around. Baby Doll is about 4 months old and Mama is about 1 year old. They are both very sweet to each other, would be good with children but maybe not dogs.
Updated photo! The top two pictures of Mama and Baby Doll are from five months ago. They have been with us for awhile and have been through a lot! They survived the fire (see home page) but are now both out of the Orange County Animal shelter and are safe in the Brea Petsmart store still awaiting to be adopted. As you can see from the bottom picture they still both love snuggling up with each other.
Princess Di is a sweet and frisky gray and white one year old little girl. She was abandoned at an apartment complex in Brea and was rescued by the managers. If the way she was acting with me is any indication, I think she will make a great little lap warmer. She crawled right up onto my lap and enjoyed being pet. She purred very loudly.
Cosmo (female) and brother Knod are two of seven cats that were left behind when the owners moved to the East coast. They are six years old and need a quiet home so they can feel safe. At this time Knod is too scared to be in the store (Petsmart) so Cosmo is trying her best to flirt with the humans that come by to see her so she can find her and her brother a good home. She sometimes even resorts to being silly (like when I am trying to take her picture!). Sadly, Knod still needs a home. Please visit our adoptable cats pages to read a little more about Knod.
Wow! Is this the ugliest cat you've ever seen? No, you're not imagining things, Barney is a dog on the Cats in Need site. Hey, we love all animals. Barney is a lovable male basset hound who was rescued from the freeway. He is good with other dogs, cats and children. He has now been neutered, microchipped and has had his rabies-6-1 shots (donation for adoption to cover his vet bill). Barney needs lots of love and attention and would love to be someone's life long companion.
Roxy is such a sweetie and I hate the reason she was given up. The owner didn't really want her anymore now that she is no longer a kitten! Roxy is a pretty 1 year old gray and white tabby. She is a little shy at first and quiet, but when you approach her the right way (slowly) she warms up to you quick! She loves to be pet and scratched behind the ears and she also loves canned cat food.
I have been volunteering for Cats in Need since September 2001. Not too long after, in one of the cages, I met Trinket. I can't believe she is still with us and that no one has taken her home yet. She is a very sweet and loving 12 year old black and white cat that has such a strong and good spirit, it kills me that she is still in a cage. When I'm there cleaning her cage I let her walk around to stretch her legs and she just follows me around, looking up at me, meowing for some attention (and canned cat food, which she loves). She is so sweet that she has taken Smokey under wing to comfort him and show him the ropes. Smokey is a 5 to 6 month old gray and white cat that was rescued as a kitten. He's still a little shy around people but loves to snuggle up with Trinket and get a bath from her. Can you please open up your hearts to Trinket and/or Smokey and finally release Trinket from her cage?
Raven, a.k.a. "Sparky," is a cute black 5 month old male kitten. He is spunky, curious, full of energy (as most kittens are) and likes to play rough. Because of this he would probably be best suited for a home with children that are 8 and older.
You can see that the name "Blink" seems to be very appropriate for her. Blink is an 8 year old declawed Russian-Blue mix. Her family became highly allergic to her and could no longer keep her. She is a beautiful gray and white cat that loves to be scratched behind her ears, loves canned cat food and toy mice. She would prefer to be the only cat in the household.
