Welcome to the Brea Cats in Need Site
Site Info

Cats In Need is a volunteer-run, non-profit, no-kill Southern California rescue group organized to bring homeless adoptable cats and potential life-long owners together.

The Brea Chapter operates out of the PETsMART Luv A Pet Centers located at: 2465 E. Imperial Highway, Brea, CA  714-256-0205.

As you can see, we have many black and white and all black cats right now. For some strange reason these beautiful creatures are often overlooked. They have so much love to give and just want love in return. Please give these too often passed over kitties a second look and your consideration.

Patches
Cats for Adoption

This spunky little girl's name is Patches. She is so young but she has already had a litter of kittens. She still plays like she's a kitten herself! Unfortunately she has a limited amount of space right now to play. When we let her out of her cage at the store (Petsmart) she loves to run around and play with her toy mouse. She also loves canned food. She really needs a home where she can be herself and have a lot of room to run and play. She has way too much energy to be stuck in a cage. Can you give her this home?

Duke and Count
Cats for Adoption

These two adorable little ones are Duke and Count. They had a sibling who was recently adopted named Duchess. They are about twelve weeks old and love to play together. They love to run around, chase and hunt each other and then when it's time for a nap will sometimes snooze together. They are sweet and playful and would love a home together.

Sheba
Cats for Adoption

This beautiful girl's name is Sheba. She's about 1-2 years old. We're not exactly sure of her age because she was found outside as a stray. We're thinking that she must have been someone's pet at some time because she is not feral. She's very sweet. She so wants be loved. Unfortunately as we see with a lot of cats that live outside, Sheba has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. She is doing very well and can live a very happy life but this means that she can only be adopted out to a family who has other kitties that are FeLV positive or she needs to be the only kitty. Because of this she is confined to a cage most of the time right now. The home she is being fostered in has other cats too, so she needs to be kept separate from them. This poor sweet thing doesn't belong in a cage. She needs to be loved. I know adopting a cat is a big responsibility, and adopting one that is FeLV positive can seem really scary. Knowledge is very important. For more information about Feline Leukemia please visit the following website for more information: http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/brochures/felv.html
Please give this pretty little girl a home. Free her from her cage. Oh, by the way, you can tell she didn't really care for the flash on my camera, poor thing.

Trixie
Cats for Adoption

Trixie is a sweet little girl. She's about six-months-old. She is so scared right now. She doesn't mind the other kitties in the store but it's the humans she's trying to get used to. She's getting there. She has recently decided it was okay to come out of her cage to explore, a big breakthrough for her! She doesn't mind being pet, in fact she kind of relaxes and likes it, she's just not sure of your intentions at first. She needs a quiet home with someone who will let her blossom into the pretty little flower I know she is. She needs a loving and patient person and I know there will be big rewards for that person. She's very playful in her cage (which is where she feels safe right now). She loves to bat around her little crinkle ball. What she really needs is a home where she will learn to feel safe and she can have more room to bat around her favorite toy!

Toby
Cats for Adoption

Toby is a smart, handsome orange medium haired tabby who’s about 2 years old.  As you can see from the picture, he’s got the most amazingly fluffy tail!  He’s a very active, social kitty that gets along well with other cats and kids. Toby’s a high-energy teenager that loves to play, chase the laser pointer and wrestle with other kitties, but when he’s tired he’ll snuggle up with his kitty friends for an afternoon nap. Toby would do well in a home with younger cats and/or kids.

Dorito and Maddy
Cats for Adoption

Dorito and Maddy are about nine to ten months old. Dorito is the male orange and white kitty and the gray one is Maddy (female). They are both shy but very sweet. They felt safe with each other so they stuck close to each other. That's why I have a picture of the two of them squished together in a bed. They deserve a loving home. Please give them one!

Hollie
Cats for Adoption

This shy little sweetheart is Hollie. She is a beautiful five-year-old pastel torti. She's good with other cats (when introduced properly!) but might be a bit too timid for small children. She loves to be pet and is very loving. She also comes with a pretty lavender blanket that she loves. It's her security blanket!

Felicity a.k.a. Ma Ma Felicity
Cats for Adoption

Felicity is a beautiful four year old brown tabby. She and her son were adopted out together by us awhile back. Unfortunately they have fallen victim to the hard economic times. Their owners had to downsize so Felicity and her son (Tyler) are back with us looking for new homes. She is such a sweetie. She is a bit shy because she is unsure of her surroundings. She loves catnip though! The second picture is of her on a catnip high as she rolled around in her cage.

Cyber
Cats for Adoption

Cyber an eight-year-old female who is looking for a new home because she didn't get along with her other kitty roommates. She needs to be the only cat in the household. She's a little nervous about her new surroundings in the store (you can tell from the two pictures I took of her). She took comfort though in being petted. She's a loving girl to people and just needs a chance.
